He studied sculpture at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. He taught at the Classical Academy of Sculpture in Groningen and has been giving his own master classes since 2015. After his studies, Eddy Roos worked in Italy for a year and a half with the sculptor Giacomo Manzu, one of the great masters of classical sculpture. He has studios in Amsterdam-Noord and Uithuizen. Eddy Roos was elected Brilliant Artist of the year 2019. His work is distinctly physical, it licks to breathe and move. Roos sketches the movements of dancers, which he then records in bronze, in order to eventually arrive at a dynamic image. He immortalizes his live models in various positions; both floating, dancing, squatting and lying. His images are predominantly one or more female figures.
