Roeland van der Kley De grote ontsnapping

Price: €6800.-

format: 90 x 140 cm

type:

Description:

The painting 'The great escape' is the first painting about the clown who sets out to seek happiness and ends up in numerous bizarre adventures along the way. There will also be a book about this later. But first a whole series of paintings and drawings.

The first painting is the starting point. The clown finds himself in a dark forest full of sawn-off tree stumps and trees that are yet to be felled. In the background you can see another machine that is eating the earth. Such a monstrous thing is used for the extraction of lignite and destroys the landscape, including farms, houses and even entire villages and hamlets. Everything must be destroyed for the economy. Life doesn't matter anymore. A dead canary lies on one of the sawn-off tree trunks. Symbolic of the canary in the coal mine. When he passes out, it's already too late. The cat sits on a sawn-off stump and knows the way to a beautiful landscape that is visible through the gate of trees. The clown won't see it through his lantern, but the cat will lead him there.

We will replicate the image of parts of it on wallpaper, pillows, etc. and other home accessories. This tailored for you and your interior, for more information please contact art stylist Brenda Baart.
